Hope & Disappointment
I am very hopeful about the possibilities of staying on some kind of active orders but NOT being deployed in the near term! After attending some meetings and talking with some of the decision makers in my chain of command, I am fairly encouraged about the opportunity of continuing employment within the Corps that will still allow me to spend time with my family. This would be beneficial in many ways, and would be an AWESOME answer to our prayers. Please continue to pray with Sheryl and I about this.
On the down side, the meetings I mentioned above destroyed my opportunity to meet with a Girl Scout Troop that was an encouragement to me, so I've communicated to them my regrets and asked if I could re-schedule my meeting with them to a later date. They have been very forgiving.
As many as 20 people (me included, of course) from our church are considering running the Chicago Marathon to raise funds for the World Vision component of the Y-Malawi ministry! This is truly exciting, I really feel honored to be a part of such a dedicated Community!

That would be SO GREAT if you are able to stay in the Corps and stay in the States too! So glad you are blogging again so I can keep up with what you're doing.
Linda: Thanks for taking the time to post... No job offers yet, but a couple leads I'm pursuing. I'm not blogging as much as I'd like, but whenever I get the chance. I'm able to check your blog, which is a fun way to stay up on you guys! Looking forward to seeing you this summer.
