Matt: I'll definitely drop you a line, question is whether you'll bite... you Air Force types are had to predict. And even if I hook you, it'll be impossible to reel you in, ha, ha. Trip was what it was, you know how that goes (OK, maybe you don't, Marine permanent lodging being sub-standard for you guys, I have no idea how you'd rate our transient tents). Leave is going great, thanks for your 'congrats.'

Helen: Thanks, it is good to be home. Thought I'd kind of beat jet leg due to the nature of my trip, but find I'm still sleeping a lot... Maybe it's just me, not the travel :)

Brad: It will be great to see you again. God bless your family (and keep your boys out of the military, I can hear Jilinda saying) for your support and prayers. When I get promoted, I'll give your boys all my old rank insignia, how's that?

Eric: Thanks, man--from someone whose service is broader and more varied than mine, I take that as a compliment. Of course, with broken time, I don't know where you're at with years of service... Looking forward to communicating more on email, Oorah.

Ruth: Thanks for your beautiful prayers. We (my family and I) are certainly enjoying this time. My sense is that my family is sacrificing signigicantly more than me--I am in a fairly predictable (though not necessarily stable) situation mostly resulting from my own choices--wheras they must live with a vacuum in the place where I have been for the remembered past. I am very aware of their sacrifices, but tend to think of my service as God's calling. Mmm. Anyway, thank you for your prayers and encouragement.
